I found it quite hard to think of 7 things about myself that perhaps you didn't know as I live quite an "open" life and I think most friends know most things about me !!  But I will have a try !!

Seven things about me:
1      My favourite day of the week is Sunday.
2      I have had 4 dogs...Libbi, Red, Tamas, and Dee.  Thre dashhounds and one Yorkie,
3      I once had a prize Silkie hen. I used to carry her around in my dolls parm.
4      The friend I have had longest is Phil we have know each other for just over 60 years.
5      My fav. food is a Sirlion Steak cooked rare...
6      I resisted having a computer for years and years.
7       I would not like to live without my computer !!

So there you are a few odds and ends about me.. Nothing very earth shattering !!

Now I will nominate some great bloggers that I follow

I am not at all sure if I have done all this correctly...I am sure someone will let me know if I havn't and I will see if I can do better next time.  I am sure you all know by now how.. expert !!  I am on the computer LOL

I have a PS to my last mesage about my memories of the Queen.  I forgot to tell you a sad thing that happened.  It was just after the coronation that my Granny decided she would like to see the film "The Queen is Crowned"   she had never been in a cinema before....in fact belonged to quite a strict church that frowned upon such places...she asked permission of the church elders and was duly told she could go.  So one day she went with my Aunt into Edinburgh  an journey in itself as she rarely ever left the village...They arrived at the cinema and after buying the tickets and just before entering the auditorium....she dropped dead...It was a dreadful thing to happen, she had diabetis and was not a well lady and the feeling was that it was just all to much for her the excitment of the day.  I remember as a child feeling sorry that she had paid to see the Queen and never saw her !!  typical of me..never mind my poor Granny lying dead...
Yesterday I had good news that my Great Niece Samantha passed her driving test first time...We are so proud of her...She will now be able to drive herself  wherever she wants to go. After her test she took her Mum into Bristol as she had a hospital appointment about her diabetis....driving in Bristol takes some nerve I can tell you.  It is the last place on earth that I would drive in unless there was an emergency !!!
Goodnight All..             LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

  2. I agree there are some great bloggers there. Most I'm familiar with but there were a few I'll check out that are new to me. It's great to hear of your neice's success and her driving skills. I think young people can deal with heavy traffic better than I can for sure. I've never had to deal with it at all. I hope your weekend is a wonderful one!

  3. Sybil, thanks so much for the award.... I have not been here to read blogs in sooooo long, and whenever I come back to read... I think "Why don't I do this more often?" LOL!!!

I'm SOOO SORRY about your granny, I know it was a long time ago, but what sad timing!!! That's so sad to me that she never got to go into a movie theater, even after finally getting permission.... and to see the QUEEN!!! WOW!!! Very sad story. = (

  4. Congratulations on your award, Sybil. It is well deserved. Like Joann, I know it was a long time ago but it was such sad timing although I like to think that perhaps your grandmother enjoyed the anticipation and that her last thoughts were pleasant ones.

  5. Congratulations on your award Sybil! Well deserved, and I appreciate you passing it on to me. I can see I am in good company and am honoured. I can see that we have something in common in a round about way. My Paternal Grandfather died the day John F Kennedy died, and it was because he was so upset about President Kennedy's death. His heart could not take all the upset and emotion I suppose. Funny how that goes. Kudos to your neice on her achievement. I have heard it said if you can drive in the UK, you can drive anywhere in the world, and I believe it! Love and hugs. xxoo

  6. Thank you Sybil! I do appreciate this lovely award, especially coming from you as you are a 'special lady and friend' to me. (smile)
Sad to hear about your grandmother though. I expect she is enjoying the 'pictures' from where she is now. Bless her!
I won't be able to enter my journal for another week as I am off to look after Samantha's little brood from tomorrow onwards. Bryan is holding the fort. lol
I will make time when I return.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
    Especially Sunday!!
    Much love

  8. Thanks, dear Sybil! Much appreciated. I am going to have to think about my seven surprises. I feel very stylish. What fun!

Congratulations to Samantha. I continue to be awed by people who drive in the heart of big cities. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

  9. Hello dear Sybil
Yuur such a sweethear for picking me to do this and I really appreciate you too.
I like your seven things about you! It will be hard for me to come up with those myself since my blog is an open book. lol
What a sad sad story about your grandmother. That is incredible the timing of her death and I know it left all of you devastated and in shock.
I loved that one of the seven things was you carrying the hen around. Love that and you

  10. Congrats on your award dear. You do deserve it... and thanks for passing it on to me. I don't think that I have but a handful of friends that read my blog regularly that I could pass it on to....much less 15.... and you and Marie are in my handful. However, I appreciate you awarding it to me. I will post it when I get back home next week.

So sad about your Granny not getting to see the cinema that day after all of that effort. It seems like God could have called her home after she saw the queen. Oh well, what do I know?????
I guess I'd better not tell God what He should have done!

Have a great week. Hugs, Lura
